Build & Comfort
The Dragonfly 81T boasts a solid build quality, featuring 3D-printed, skin-friendly resin that feels both smooth and sturdy, providing a premium touch at its price point. The metal nozzle adds to its durability, ensuring ear tips fit securely without slipping, which is crucial for long listening sessions. The overall finish is clean, with no rough edges or uneven seams. The faceplates are particularly eye-catching, crafted from CNC-milled stabilized wood panels with silver trim, giving them a handcrafted, artistic look.

In terms of comfort, the lightweight, full-resin build makes the Dragonfly 81T barely noticeable in the ears, even during extended use. The smooth interior prevents pressure points, and the well-designed venting system prevents pressure buildup inside the ear canal, contributing to an open and comfortable feel. The included 18AWG multi-core 6N silver-plated oxygen-free copper (OFC) cable is soft, tangle-free, and free from microphonics during use. It features an interchangeable termination system with both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced plugs, enhancing its versatility.

Overall, the Dragonfly 81T excels in both build quality and comfort, making it suitable for long listening sessions without any discomfort.
Sound Performance

Bass: Clean, Incisive, and Controlled
The bass here is all about clarity and precision. It’s tight, well-defined, and showcases excellent sub-bass extension without any unnecessary bloom. There’s an elastic quality to the bass response, making it feel snappy and responsive rather than sluggish. But, the mid-bass lacks a bit of punch, which may leave some listeners wanting more weight and warmth in the lower mids.
Midrange: Clean, Transparent, and Slightly Bitey
The midrange is where the Dragonfly 81T truly shines. It delivers a crystal-clear, articulate presentation that is both clean and natural. Male vocals, while smooth and detailed, could use a bit more warmth and body, especially in the lower registers. Female vocals, on the other hand, are exceptionally well-rendered airy, energetic, and never shouty. The slight bite in the upper mids adds a level of engagement to electric guitars and snappy percussions, though some might find it a tad intense depending on track mastering.

Treble: Airy, Extended, and Almost BA-Free
Treble performance is another strong suit of the Dragonfly 81T. It extends beautifully, providing an open and spacious presentation with excellent detail retrieval. There’s a bit of typical BA timbre that could be found, so keep that in mind (specifically with a bright source). The treble is articulate, well-controlled, and never sibilant, striking a perfect balance between precision and musicality.
Technical Performance
The soundstage is of a decent size, providing good width and some depth. It’s not the most cavernous, but imaging and separation are highly commendable. Instruments have their own space, and layering is executed with finesse. The overall resolution is top-tier for its class, making it an excellent pick for those who enjoy picking apart complex compositions.

Gaming Performance
For those interested in gaming, the Dragonfly 81T holds up well across different genres. In FPS games like Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, and Call of Duty Multiplayer, the precise imaging and clear treble allow you to easily pinpoint enemy footsteps and gunfire direction. The soundstage, while not the widest, provides a good sense of spatial awareness, crucial for competitive gaming.
For open-world games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto V, and Once Human, the IEMs deliver a highly immersive experience. Environmental details like rustling leaves, distant gunfire, and ambient city sounds are rendered with clarity and depth, enhancing the overall gaming atmosphere. While the mid-bass lacks a bit of punch, making some explosions and vehicle engines (while Playing Forza) feel slightly less impactful, the overall detail retrieval ensures a rich and engaging gaming experience.

Final Thoughts
The JUZEAR Dragonfly 81T is an IEM built for those who love technical prowess without sacrificing musicality. Its neutral and balanced tuning, combined with natural timbre and precise technicalities, makes it an easy recommendation for detail-oriented listeners. While it lacks some mid-bass punch and warmth in male vocals, the excellent treble extension, clean mids, and elastic bass make it a strong contender in its price bracket.
If you’re after an IEM that brings clarity, precision, and a touch of bite to the table while maintaining a natural tonality, the Dragonfly 81T is worth a serious look.
Happy Listening
