Build and Design
While the main highlights for the cable are high-purity single-crystal copper and silver-plated wires added to the use of OCC copper, the six-fold coaxial twist inside the cable is for added tensile strength and high-quality transmission. Hot-swappable connectors default to 0.78mm 2-pin and MMCX but options going to either 3.5mm or 4.4mm plugs make this high-quality, overly featured cable quite formidable.
The 1.2-meter cable has an ergonomic length and is softly textured to resist tangles without compromising on lightness.

Sound Performance
The cable delivers subtle but meaningful sonic improvements:
- Bass: Fuller and better controlled, with a tighter sub-bass response.
- Mids: Slightly smoother, improving vocal clarity and richness.
- Treble: Clearer and more defined, adding airiness without becoming sharp.
- Soundstage and Separation: Slightly enhanced width and better-defined layering, making complex tracks more engaging.
Pairing with IEMs
The Captain couples elegantly with many IEMs, and it amplifies those special qualities.
Aful Performer 5+2
- Synergy: The Captain complements the already strong technical performance of the Performer 5+2, firmed-up bass, and midrange gaining extra warm and smooth overtones filling in the Performer’s natural tonality.
- Soundstage: Very slight widening and deepening; good for very complicated genres, such as orchestral or progressive rock.
Sennheiser IE200
- Synergy: This cable adds some body to the otherwise neutrally tuned Sennheiser IE200, particularly in the sub-bass and treble sparkle. It evenizes the sound out, enrichening it without changing the naturally present IE200 signature.
- Treble: Benefits from increased clarity and air without becoming fatiguing.

Hidizs MP145
- Synergy: Complementing the V-shaped signature of the MP145, it firms up the bass and refines the treble while infusing the midrange, which might sound a bit recessed on specific setups with some welcome presence and texture.
- Instrument Separation: Forcing the MP145 to shine bright was improved separation and layering within busy tracks like EDM and metal.
HiSenior Mega5EST
- Synergy: Assuming that with the hybrid setup and EST drivers, Mega5EST benefits from the airiness and resolution of the treble added to the Captain cable, while bass gets better defined and the soundstage wider.
- Detail Retrieval: Even more refinement of the micro details of the EST drivers makes the Mega5EST a great pair for critical listening.
Value for Money
Yongse Captain manages to nail impressive build quality and apparent sound improvements for the most modest price. For audiophiles seeking greater resolution, balance, and aesthetics without overpaying, it’s going to be a great upgrade.

Conclusion
The upgrade cable from Yongse Captain is an unbeatable add-on for any user of IEM, meant to increase the ante. Made from great material, it is universally compatible and improves the sound quality, hence, it is worth investing in. Paired with the IEMs-Aful Performer 5+2, Sennheiser IE200, Hidizs MP145, and HiSenior Mega5EST, this cable demonstrates noticeable upgrades in clarity, balance, and detail.
Highly recommended for audiophiles who chase refined sound with a touch of luxury.
