Design and Build Quality
First things first, the looks. The Innovative Wool-Metal Weave outer layer is something I ain’t seen before. Black wool interwoven with metallic threads? Yeah, that’s different. But it ain’t just for show, it actually helps with flexibility, making it way easier to handle than some of those stiff high-end cables out there.
Then there’s the Custom Anodized Accessories, all CNC machined and anodized in black. They give off this premium feel that just makes the whole cable scream quality. And let’s not forget the Gold-Plated OFC Connector and **10u Alloy Plated + Gold-Plated OFC Termination **. basically, this thing is built like a tank but refined like a luxury product.

Materials and Construction
Now, let’s talk guts. The 5N Graphene-Plated OCC Silver is a huge part of what makes this cable shine. Graphene is crazy conductive and combined with OCC silver, the signal purity here is top-notch. What does that mean in real-world listening? More detail, better dynamics, and a soundstage that stretches wider and deeper.
Sound Performance
Clean and Balanced Sound Profile
The Murk leans a bit towards the upper-midrange, giving everything a clean and precise presentation. Vocals, guitars, pianos, you name it. just sound clearer and more present. It’s got that crisp, detailed quality without going overboard.
Midrange and High Frequencies
One of the Murk’s biggest strengths is how it handles mids and highs. Vocals got this rich, slightly warm character that makes ‘em sound natural and intimate. The treble is super detailed and airy but never harsh, which is a big plus for long listening sessions.
Note: If you pair it with bright iems or dac’s then you might find the sound is a bit harsh for some iems.

Soundstage and Imaging
Where this cable really flexes is in the soundstage. There’s this sense of space that just feels bigger, instruments are positioned with pinpoint accuracy, and separation between sounds is just chef’s kiss. It makes music feel more alive, more immersive.
Listening Impressions
I ran this cable through some of my favorite test tracks, and man, it delivered.
“Stairway to Heaven” by Led Zeppelin – The dynamic shifts from soft acoustic to full-blown rock were handled with ease. Every detail just popped.
“Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen – The layering was insane. Each vocal harmony was crystal clear, and the way the instruments were spaced out just added to the experience.
“Still Got the Blues” by Gary Moore – The emotion in the guitar solos hit different with this cable. The warmth in the mids made the whole track feel more soulful.

Pairing with IEMs
The Murk is a solid match with a bunch of IEMs, each pairing bringing out something unique:
- Aful Performer 5+2: Adds more depth and clarity, making the soundstage feel bigger and more precise. Vocals come through a bit more forward, which I loved.
- Ikko OH10s: Gives the OH10s an extra bit of bass control while smoothing out the treble. Made them sound more refined overall.
- BQEYZ Frost: Enhances detail retrieval and instrument separation. If you love vocals and acoustic instruments, this pairing is gold.
- Hidizs MP145: Already a beast in terms of soundstage, but the Murk somehow pushes it even further. Mids get a little extra warmth, and highs feel airier.
Final Thoughts
The NMD Audio Murk ain’t just a cable, it’s an upgrade that actually makes a difference. The mix of high-end materials, solid build quality, and unique design make it a standout choice for anyone looking to take their listening experience to the next level.
If you want a clean, detailed, and expansive sound that brings out the best in your IEMs, the Murk is definitely worth checking out. Yeah, it’s on the pricier side, but for what you’re getting, I’d say it’s worth every penny.

Happy Listening
